At our annual board meeting held on September the 21st and 22nd, we were joined by Commissioner David Mattax, Deputy Chief of Staff Kevin Brady, and Associate Commissioner Jamie Walker from the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) to review the four pieces of legislation that were passed during the 2015 Legislative Session. During our meeting, we discussed the implementation of provisional licenses for new agents, reduction of continuing education hours from 30 to 24, the reduction of fines from $1500, and the alignment of license renewal dates to the agent’s birthdate. NAIFA-Texas looks forward to continuing to work with TDI on the implementation of these achievements as well as issues effecting our industry. If you have any questions regarding the new rules set forth by TDI, please contact us at email@example.com.
